I see an elephant kissing a man while a bird watches on longingly. Susie Mc Schnooz! a touch of homesickness mah dear? sorry to hear. ya know we all got a serious case of nosusiesickness back here, but its great to see how busy and inspired you are. there definetely seems to be a running theme of buns and weiners on your blog, and they're always situated the same way on the platter! brilliant really. I'm less than two weeks from my long awaited Czech-up where I too will be enjoying more than my fair share of the weiner kind.things are great.I'll write more soon. -Josh
I live in one of the most beautiful places in England.. on the jurasic coast in Dorset, England in between thousand year old historic towns with anything from viking (Ringsted) to roman (Rhyme Intrinsica) names.. and though I love it here I miss:
-My Mum and Dad -My best friend Kristine and her kids in Lyngby. -My beachhouse in Marielyst, Falster -A proper danish hotdog -Homebeaked ryebread -Pickled herring (Who'd believe it..) -Sitting in Nyhavn with a cool beer -Proper Danish pastry -Hot choc or coffee in a tiny Copenhagen cafe -Sitting in front of the log fire in the beachhouse on a rainy day -My Mum's alotment -Sunday lunch with my parents in the garden under the apple tree -All the small sneaky great 'designer' shops in Copenhagen -Remoulade -Snow (on occation) -Piratos -walking to places -and speaking Danish....
Enjoy while you can.. it will too soon be a distant memory.. and what you will remember is:
-You new found friends.. -Hearing/speaking Danish -Walking to places -Piratos -Snow (on occation) -Remoulade......
This blog chronicles three months in Copenhagen, Denmark. I spent this time learning about Scandinavia, conducting research for and writing my master's thesis in Landscape Achitecture.
A huge Thanks to the Valle Program for sending me to Copenhagen. It was fantastic! Also thanks to the Copenhagen Royal Academy of Fine Arts School of Architecture and more specifically, the Center for Public Space research.
If you would like to catch up with me know, check out these places:
